Vybz Kartel leads with 9 awards (he is nominated twice in two categories and I counted all four), Tarrus Riley comes up beyond him (yes beyond) with 7 nods....Mavado and Jah Cure will be vying for four awards. Leading the ladies, is Queen Ifrica with six nominations so far. All this might change when the people's choice awards are given out.
Just want to shoutout to Alison Hinds and Timeka Marshall, non-Jamaicans who are making a definite mark on the reggae scene. It would have been nice to see Kris Kelli up for at least one award. I think they should also have an award for best website. Many Reggae/Dancehall fans get their news and juicy gossip from online sources. I know there are alot of categories already but I think this is important. It is a testament of dedication (for me at least) to seek stories to bring to you guys on the daily. An EME wouldn't hurt;-)
