From all accounts the 2010 Year of the Child concert organized by Dominican Reggae artist Nelly Stharre and Friends was well received and well attended. Patrons were entertained by Reggae Heavyweights Queen Ifrica and Tony Rebel as well as Nelly Stharre of course and other local talents like marie-claire, Maxine Alleyne-Esprit, Aima, Ras Judah all backed by Fanatik Band. Here are some pics:

Conscious reggae artist Aima is from the Nature Isle of Dominica. His voice can be at once strong yet soothing. He is a part of Fyah Nation which boasts several up and coming reggae artists from the island. So check out his page. I love the song "Keep It Real", others include "Crucial Times" and "Pretty Black Rose."

The video for his song "My Love" is also on his page, but I like it so much I posted it here. Filmed in the beautiful forest of Dominica, it features other local sites like the Freshwater Lake and the Local Market. BTW don't forget the beautiful Dominican girl. If you didn't know some of the world's most beautiful women come from Dominica!!!!
