Just heard from a friend that former Calypso King of Dominica Dennison "King Dice" Joseph has been arrested.
Allegedly, over an altercation at the market this morning involving an officer of the law. His house was searched, drugs were discovered. He along with others were placed into custody.

Wow. I had seen Dennison at the last lap at Crazy Coconuts TripleKay/MFRJam. He was hanging with fellow Klockerz members S.K.I.NN.Yaka Shadowflow, and Sky Dimex. They were having a time. I was at the market too, but left before this 'incident' occured.

I hope that police followed proper procedure in their actions, and I hope that in due time we can find out the truenature of the incident on both sides. I know many consider Dice a bad role model and already tongues were wagging since he decided not to defend his crown.

I was not there so as far as I am concerned, he is innocent until proven guilty.

Developing......

UPDATE: I was told he was charged with Obstruction of Justice. He intervened in a dispute between a policeman and a young man. That sounds like the Dice I know. He does get a bad rap because he is so opinionated, but he abhors injustice, and so do I. So I guess this should be on local news tomorrow which as far as I am told is when he will go to court.

Check this out! Seems Luciano's Engineer beat him up with a pipe. Wanted you guys to have the full unedited version.

Source: Brittany Somerset, Intrepid Reporter

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Singer Luciano, AKA "Jah Messenger," whose given name is Jepther McClymont, was beaten with a lead pipe on Friday, February 20th, and required 6 stitches in his face, after he was allegedly attacked by his sound engineer, "Freckles" Trench at a service station, on Constant Spring Road and Dunrobin Ave, in Kingston.

Freckles, who is a well known and respected writer, producer and sound engineer, for artists like Maxi Priest and Beenie Man, spoke exclusively to intrepid reporter, Brittany Somerset, about the alleged incident. According to Freckles, the beating was long overdue, in retaliation for Luciano dispatching his boys to cut chop up Freckles' back and his thumb over a disagreement about money.

The quarrel between Luciano and Freckles started back in September of 2008, when Luciano asked Freckles to come on tour with him in Australia, as his sound engineer. Luciano and his manager, Copeland Forbes, agreed with Freckles in advance, on what his salary would be. During the middle of the tour, Luciano pulled Freckles aside, and told him in confidence, that there was a problem with money on the tour, and they were subsequently going to have to lower his salary. Freckles amicably agreed. Afterwards, Luciano's manager asked Freckles what the conversation between the two was about, during which his manager revealed that there was in fact, no money shortage on the tour, and that, he should insist on receiving the original amount that was agreed to.

Although Freckles agreed in principle, that Mr. Forbes' point of view was correct, he already agreed with Luciano on the lower figure, and as it initially was only a small monetary difference in pay, he let it go. After Luciano and his manager discussed the situation, with Freckles present, Luciano changed his mind and said "his word was his bond," and assured Freckles he would honor the original agreement, and pay him the proper amount that he was due when they returned to Jamaica.

When they returned to Jamaica, Freckles went to Lucie's yard, to collect his salary. He kissed Lucie on both cheeks, a customary greeting, and placed his baby in the chair by Luciano's feet. Lucie then instructed Freckles to see his wife, who would give him his pay. Feckles greeted Luciano's wife, and put the money she handed him, into his pocket without counting it; assuming he could trust the honorable messenger of Jah.

Luciano's wife then remarked that she was surpired he pocketed the money without counting it, as it was short. She then referred him back to Luciano to discuss why. Luciano then cursed Freckles, remarking that Freckles and Luciano's manager conspired against him, and that Freckles didn't deserve the agreed-to amount, that engineers didn't deserve that much money, etc. Without saying another word, Freckles, feeling demoralized, picked up his infant and he left.

On His Imperial Majesty Halie Selassi-I the First's birthday, in June, Freckles said to Luciano, "Today, is his Imperial Majesty's birthday. It is my new year. It is time to let old things go, and let bygones be bygones." Luciano later called Freckles back, said he thought about the situation and had a change of heart. He asked that Freckles return to his yard, so they could break bread together. Freckles stopped by Luciano's yard to make peace. As he was leaving Luciano's yard, Luciano signalled his crew to jump Freckles and attack him from behind with machetes. They sliced up his back and chopped off his thumb. Freckles had plans to leave Jamaica and go abroad later that same day. His trip had to be postponed while his back was stitched up and his thumb was surgically re-attached. To this day he has permanent nerve damage in his thumb.

Several months later, Freckles was traveling on the road and happened to see Luciano at the service station. He approached Luciano and an argument quickly ensued. Freckles allegedly picked up a lead pipe and and hit Luciano over the head with it. As a result, "Jah's Messenger" required the removal of two of his dreadlocks, so doctors could put six stitches in his head.

While the X-News reported (in what was obviously a thinly disguised editorial from Luciano's point of view) that Freckles attacked Luciano from behind without provocation, the physical altercation actually stemmed from a prior vicious, bloody attack on Freckles, by Luciano's camp. While the X-News also reported that Freckles came through Luciano's yard unannounced, Freckles claims he was lured to Luciano's yard, under the guise of Luciano wanting to make amends.

Meanwhile, the Editor from The Star, ran the headlining quote that read "Anger made me beat Luciano," even though Freckles didn't make that statement. When he called the editor of The Star, to complain that he was misrepresented and misquoted, the editor snapped, "It was just a headline meant to be sensationalized." Freckles demanded a retraction, to which the editor of The Star wouldn't oblige. The article also falsely asserted that Freckles said he had "more than 10 years of pent up frustration towards Luciano," which caused him to attack him. "How can I have 10 years of pent up frustration towards Luciano for a situation that started less than one year ago? How can The Star not report that it was Luciano, who had me attacked first, from behind? How can they not report that I needed physical therapy to re-gain the use of my hand? This is not good for Rasta on a whole. All I wanted was justice."

My Two Cents: That is just messed up any how you look at it. Using violence is not a good way to get justice, though I can see how he felt totally dissed by Luciano. As far as Luciano, well it shows that he is human I guess.

On a funny or maybe not so funny note: Freckles production company is called Whop Dem International.Talk about life imitating art or life imitating life.! SMH

According to Yahoo News (E Online)::

Word is, Rihanna and Chris Brown are back together.

E! News has learned that the R&B-star duo are spending one-on-one time at Sean "Diddy" Combs' Star Island mansion in Miami Beach.

"It's very private, you can't see onto the property," a source said of Combs' nearly 13,000-square-foot beachfront home.

Earlier this week, sources said that the pair had been in touch, with Brown contacting Rihanna on her 21st birthday on Feb. 20.

A rep for the "Disturbia" singer denied that she had talked to him on the phone but... They apparently reconnected somehow.

"While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves," a source told People, which first reported the apparent reconciliation.

This looks to be the pair's first in-person reunion since Brown was arrested Feb. 8 for allegedly assaulting Rihanna and leaving her with visible injuries. Except for flashes of them in transit (separately) from here to there, and some pics of Rihanna that just surfaced from her sojourn to Mexico last weekend, both have lain incredibly low since.

Brown, who was booked on Grammy night on suspicion of making criminal threats, is due to be arraigned in Los Angeles Superior Court on March 5 but, according to the L.A. District Attorney's Office, that might not happen.

"We don't have the evidence yet. [LAPD detectives] are still investigating," D.A. spokeswoman Jane Robison told E! News Wednesday.

"The D.A. is being even more thorough than usual with this case. They don't want to mess it up," said a source close to the investigation.

At this point, it's unclear what Rihanna and Brown's reported reunion could mean for the D.A.'s case.

"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired," Brown said in a statement released Feb. 15. "I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person."

Alright artists, writers, publishers anyone else in or affiliated with the music industry. Here is an event that stands to benefit you and your business. Please read the info below and contact your local organization for exact dates.

From CaribbeanNetNews.com:

The Copyright Advocacy Group for Music and Arts (CAGMA) has launched a project aimed at edifying Caribbean recording artistes, publishers, writers, performers and music industry stake holders about the administrative aspects of copyright, its advancement and challenges.

Hundreds of regional stakeholders and interest groups are expected to benefit greatly from the free project, which would be the first trans-national undertaking of its kind in the Caribbean.

The two-day training project is slated to be held systematically in Barbados, St Lucia, Dominica, St. Kitts, the Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Aruba, Antigua, Turks and Caicos Islands, and Grenada during the months of March and April 2009.

According to CAGMA’s Press Secretary Shevone La Fleur, while the organization is fully prepared to host the projects, discussions are still underway with various stakeholders in the selected territories to provide logistical and moral support. Hence a formal time table for the regional-wide project will be made available when discussions are through and the respective territorial commitments are made.

The Regional Copyright Training Project is partially funded by CAGMA with support from several key players within the Caribbean’s music industry.

CAGMA which is based in Georgetown, Guyana was founded in late 2006, and is arguably one of the most influential copyright entities in the region, and the only one in Latin America and the Caribbeanwhose charter empowers it to negotiate directly with the State.

The organization provides legal representation and international lobbying support to regional copyright owners, musicians and members whose works may have been infringed, primarily outside of the
Caribbean region.

Well you know every one is playing the "Where in the world ()or America's at least) is Rihanna. According to bossip.com it's Mexico. Wow..home girl looks like she is is just beaten down emotionally. So sad.

According to IK magazine,he staff is on the grind when it comes to protecting her privacy:

Rihanna's closest confidants are going to extraordinary lengths to keep secret the details of her alleged beating.
In a very rare move, the singer's camp swore her inner circle of staff to silence within hours of her alleged attack at the hands of boyfriend Chris Brown on Feb. 8.
Even those at the singer's record label have been instructed not to answer any inquiries about the incident — not just from the media, but also from curious friends and family.
The matter is so sensitive that Rihanna's handlers are pulling out all the stops to make sure she's protected, sources close to the star tell OK!.
And so far, this veil of secrecy appears to have been relatively successful. Despite being one of the most sought-after people in the country in the days following Chris' arrest, Rihanna was able to avoid detection and being photographed for almost two full weeks until she was photographed in the back of a car in L.A. on Feb. 19.

So far Chris Brown has not been charged in the domestic dispute incident which caused him to turn himself into the LAPD two weeks ago. The alleged victim is Rihanna his girlfriend of over a year, who turned 20 last Friday. It has been reported that he is taking anger management classes. His camp is hoping that it will help him at his March 5th trial.

So far Rihanna has not pressed any charges. The LAPD is investigating the case further especially after a photo of Rihanna's bruises was reportedly leaked by an insider to TMZfor over 60 grand. Rihanna does not have to appear in court. Even in she does not press charges Brown could still be charged. Rihanna does not have to go to theMarch 5th trial, but if the case progresses she will have to testify.

Chris Brown is really in the dog house now. Its reported that he sent Rihanna a message wishing her happy Birthday last week and according to ultimate-rihanna.com along with a " hecklace and a diamond bracelet and an iPod Touch for the birthday girl;" and "even Joyce, “Chris ”manager” [mom], who says” adores Rihanna, “sent her a bouquet of flowers on her big day.”

O.K Real Mas has come and is just about gone. I went to some shows and some fetes. There were some awesome moments (seeing the Soca Monarch show live and direct-very proud that the music I love is getting this kind of love in DA), weird moments (waitng an hour for mass to end so Opening Ceremonies could commence on Pottersville playing field), and flat out shameful moments (the throwing of trash on stage after Teenage Pageant winner was announced).
One thing since I have been home is fete and more fete. Dominica island of party. I have noticed a disturbing trend though. Short of sounding like my mother (Director of the DAPU) too many young persons are consuming disturing amounts of alcohol. I think that the upcoming generation will have a seriousproblem if they succumb to this addiction. Itis what it is. If you can't say no to it. Well, hey you're addicted.

Speaking ofwhich, Leandra even though you did not make the finals, I love your song "Addicted" and "Silent Tears" is a very powerful, powerful song concerning domestic violence.

So here are pics of your winners this year.
Congrats to 13-year-old Sheldon Alfred of St Mary's Academy aka 'De Professor' who won the Junior Monarch on Thursday Feb 5th. I want to make special mention of a little boy that just rocked the show, but alas I cyan rmeber his name. It is Mighty something that starts with "D" I just remember the line I crying from his song, buthis performance was off the chain. If he works on his pronunciation he will have the crown one day. I think he was 8 years old so that in itself is commendable.

Chrislyn Tavernier who madehistory when her school won for the firsttime. She won best talent, best in costume, Miss Congeniality and best in party dress.

The other contestants were Connie St. Hilaire (Roseau Primary school), Makeba Paul (St. Martin's Primary school) and Markisha Jno Baptiste (Goodwill Primary school).
