Calyso Rose new album release!

68 year old McArtha Sandy Lewis better known as Calypso Rose’s latest album Calypso Rose will debut in Europe next month, followed by a US release in May. The album was originally released in France last October on the Maturity Music Label. It introduces a whole to crop of fans aswell as stalwarts to several traditional calypso and soca classics

Calypso Rose made history in 1977 as the first female to win Carnival's Road March title with "Tempo," and since 1978 she remains the only female to have captured Carnival's three top musical honors -- Road March, National Calypso Queen and Calypso Monarch -- in one year. By the way she won the Calpso title five years in a row '73,'74,'75,'76,'77 despite not being able to perform with the men.
