Emmy Award -winning actor Paul Giamatti ( Big Momma's House, Saving Private Ryan) and co-star Anthony Mackie (The Man, 8 Mile) will be in Jamaica in February to begin shooting. The script was written by Ian Stone (The Simpson Movie) and Adreas Baiz is the Director (Santana).
Mackie plays a Rastafarian, and Giamatti a British minister of religion. They are both trying to protect a 12-year-old Jamaican boy from gangsters.
By the way theses guys are busy for 2009. Giamatti will star in Duplicity opposite Clive Owens and Julia Roberts, The Owl In Daylight and Ironclad. Mackie will be playing Tupac in Notorious (story of the life and death of B.I.G), The Great Observer and Jesse Owens.

NOW FOR MY TWO CENTS!
Where was Marah Walter????? Where in the name of everything I love about Dominica was Marah Walter who has won a total of THREE regional titles in addition to her Dominica Carnival Queen Crown. I mean it's great that the government named the VIP Booth at the Creole Festival, but my goodness this girl deserves way more than that. And the private sector in Dominica could not see it fit to come together to support this girl???? I mean what motivation is that for someone coming up who knows they are Miss World and Miss Universe quality but just won't bother because she knows PDJ2 is probably the furthest she can go??????? Step up Dominica. We have one more chance. Miss Universe is next year. Hope I'm not preaching to the choir....
Just want to recognize our regional contestants:

The Don has a hunch and goes on a rampage trying to figure out whats up.
Lots of celebrities appear in the video in different roles to lend support to the story.

Organizers of Art Expo Miami (running December 2-7) will feature a collection of photographs of supermodel Naomi Campbell.
This is a momentous event as such top photographers as Authur Elgort, Albet Watson and Steven Meisel rarely exhibit their work together.
The retrospective will feature over 50 photographs and several illustrations of Campbell, all of which will be for sale. It is part of a larger exhibit called In Fashion Photo, which will display an additional 250 photographs.
Haitian-born musician, Wyclef Jean, is among the latest Americans losing a home to the foreclosure crisis.
Jean`s unfinished Miami Beach mansion is set to be sold by Miami-Dade county on December 12 after the singer failed to pay the mortgage.
The Yele Haiti founder and goodwill ambassador of Haiti reportedly took out a $2 million mortgage from Home Equity Mortgage Corp. in 2004 to purchase the estate through a corporation he owns with several friends, according to The Palm Beach Post. Jean’s corporation now owes the bank $2.4 million.
But while the home was set to be renovated, it was left unfinished for more than two years because of a number of construction liens and $6,200 in fines from the city of Miami Beach.
Court documents show also that a lien was put on the property this year by the project’s architects, who have tried to collect $75,000 owed to them since 2004.
Jean has not yet commented on the case.

Rapper and former Fugees producer John Forté was one of 14 people pardoned by President Bush on Monday, according to Reuters. He had been serving a sentence of 14 years in prison since 2001, after being found guilty of possession of 31 pounds of liquid cocaine with intent to distribute.
The presidential pardons, which were for offenses ranging from distribution of marijuana to unauthorized use of a pesticide, cannot be overruled and can help the recipients find jobs, live in public housing and vote. Bush has received more than 2,000 requests for pardons, which typically come fast and furious near the end of a president's term.
Forté - who studied violin at the prestigious Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire as a youth - co-wrote and produced two songs on the Fugees' Grammy-winning 1996 smash, The Score. Two years later, he released his debut, Poly Sci, on which Fugees member Wyclef Jean has an executive-producer credit.
Forté was arrested in 2000 at Newark International Airport after accepting a briefcase containing $1.4 million worth of cocaine. He released his confessional second album, 2002's I, John, while already serving his sentence at Pennsylvania's Lorreto Federal Penitentiary.

The recent sighting of a sea lion off the Northern coast of Dominica was enough to get hundreds of spectators flocking to the beach to view the unusual spectacle.
The California sea lions are not usually seen in the Atlantic Ocean preferring to reside in the cooler Pacific, so it was no wonder that the crowds came out.
The sea lion moved up and down the shoreline periodically coming up to the water’s edge where the crowd of onlookers attempted to interact with the creature and feed it with fish. It appeared to enjoy the attention and seemed untroubled by all the activity.
It was later learned that the sea lion was one of a few sea lions that escaped from the Marine World in St. Kitts during the passage of hurricane Omar in October.
Contact was quickly made with the management of the aquarium in St. Kitts and the onlookers were advised to feed the sea lion at least two pounds of fish. This was successfully done and the following day relieved workers from the aquarium went to Portsmouth to retrieve their prize possession.
Pyramid Entertainment Management out of Barbados is hard at work. This can be attested to by the hard work of their artists to bring great music to their fans and videos of a high caliber. Here are a few artist on the roster. See what they have been up to.
Verseewild, is a radio-jock now singer who's popularity has skyrocketed in the last year. I'm sure his song "Ahzam" has something to do with it. Well he recently released a video for the song and also has a sneak peak video for his track "Tek It Light".
The video was directed by Nicholas King, while production was done by the B.M.G.U. Production team.
It captures many picturesque Bajan scenes, it is bright and lively like the island itself. Of course this is a bajan ting so you know girls are there pelting waist and pushing back bumpa and ting. Interestingly enough, the video captures the two sides of Versee as in one scene he is shown on stage performing while talking to the DJ who happens to be him.
Check out the video below:
I recently saw Philip 7's video for "Beautiful Surprise" on Caribvision. Love it. He has a new song out. It's called "Who You Are".
The song is produced by one of Jamaica’s most long-standing and accomplished producers Richard 'Shams' Browne.
Though he is known for his alternative sound, he has definitely found something magical in this Reggae inspired music. Look out for another reggae themed track "Looking For" produced by Stephen McGregor, with the accompanying video directed by J Will. Additionally, he has also been working with another veteran producer Donovan Germaine of the Penthouse Label.
To round of this successful year, Philip 7 will perform at the Barbados version of A Moment In Time headlined by Beres Hammond. The concert is set for December 28, at the Sir Garfeild Sobers Gymnasium
I always knew Barbados had great musical talent. I remember going to gospelfests as a child on vacation with my aunts, and was always blown away by the awesome talent therein. So its no surprise to me that artists like Rupee, Rihanna, Shontelle and Levvi Franc have been signed to major record labels , Atlantic, Def Jam, Universal Mowtown, and Jive Records respectively. Well Hal Linton is gonna join not only Shontelle as a label mate but Lil Wayne, Nelly and Ashanti.
Hal, is not only a singing talent but a talented writer who penned the single "Cardiac Arrest". We are looking for only the best from him!!!!
Timeka Marshall just wrapped up the video fro her seductive new single "All Night" ,
directed by Jamaican Jay Will. The track was produced by Stephen McGregor. She was one of an exclusive group of artists chosen by KLAS radio station for a tour of high schools throughout Jamaica, where she spread positive messages to teens, sharing her story, giving advice, signing posters and CDs and of course performing.
She is also a nominee for this year's Guyana Music Awards to be held on November 30. She goes up against acts such as Adrian Dutchin, Jumo, Shelly G, Natural Black, and First Born.
