In 2005, the U.S. Senate passed a Bill designating June as Caribbean American Heritage month and the following year a Proclamation making it official was signed by the president.
Nationwide events include the launch of soca d vote on June 14th , islands in the park at Joaqin Miller Park in Oak land California with a live concert on June 15th. Florida events include the international curry fest on June 15th n New york there will be a discussion on pan and Jazz at the Lincoln center on the 14th
Actress and singer, Sheryl Lee Ralph and basketball star now actor , Rick Fox are the official spokespersons for Caribbean American Heritage Month
