He is an RnB singer who calls London home but whose heart is in Barbados. Adrian Gray known as A.G was born to a Bajan mom and Jamaican father. He was greatly influenced by RnB legends such as Marvin Gaye. But don’t get it twisted he loves his Beres too. He never forgot his culture as he spent part on his childhood in Barbados and then returned for frequent vacations visiting his grandmother, so yes he loves jerk and flying fish and I'm sure he could bus a wine or two (or as they say in BIM "wukkup"). Leona Lewis performed the Led Zeppelin classic"Whole Lotta Love" with guitarist Jimmy Page during the Closing Ceremony for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games at the National Stadium (The Bird'sNest) in Beijing, China. In the original, recorded in 1969, Robert Plant sings, “I’m gonna give you every inch of my love.” But in the version that was sung, Lewis, 23, changed the words to “every bit” of my love. The band also agreed to a request from organizers to drop the third verse, which includes similar sexual innuendos, to fit in to the 8 minute performance.

She looked like she was having a rocking old time but for my part the audio sucked. I did enjoy the overall ceremony and it was pretty neat to see that London doublecab convert into the stage where she performed.

BTW is it me or does she look like she's had a nose job??? Imma have to investigate.....

Some sites are reporting that Sean Paul was arrested in Sweden on Friday after his performance at the Uppsala Reggae Festival. His hotel room was raided (in his absence) and nine other performers as well as over 300 patrons were arrested as well. I'm getting from other sources that he was not arrested, just questioned and released. Developing....

According to organizers of the Village Rock Festival in the tiny Serbian hamlet of Banatski Sokolac, a statue of late great Jamaican reggae legend Bob Marley was unveiled there on July 23rd

According to their website (which I still have yet to locate) it is the first European monument of the Jamaican born artist. Two other Serbian villages have erected staues of non-Serbian artists. They are of Johnny Weissmuller, the late actor famed for his role as "Tarzan", and Sylvester Stallone's famous film character "Rocky Balboa".

This year's is the 3rd installment of this festival. The opening act is will be opened by Del Arno Band, and also features Jamaican act Ras Abraham & the Irie Vibes.

Now though many are glad that there is a black issue, some are arguing that it's just a token act, a give-a-dog-a-bone-and-shut-it-up kind of move. Maybe it is maybe it isn't. But after hearing so many people complain that black models do not get any of the limelight the way white models do , shouldn't we embrace this???? I think it's brave and artsy. Reportedly the magazine was advised against doing it for lack of sales. But this is flying off the racks!!!! Kudos to Italian Vogue for trying a ting (even before Voguse US) and I hope not just magazines but the industry will follow suit!

The Court of Cassation threw out the 2004 drug trafficking conviction of a 44-year-old Italian Rastafarian who was semtenced to 16 months prison. Their ruling was based on the acknowledgement of his rastafarian religion and of the use of marijuana as a sacrament.

According to the court document:

Rastafarians "use marijuana not only as a medicinal ... but also as a possible way to obtain the psycho-physical state contemplation aims for during prayer," ..."Belonging to that religion ... followers (must) use the sacred grass daily, up to 10 grams (0.35 ounces) a day for person."

Jurek Zamoyski, a Polish artist, is alleging that Zion Rootswear, Fifty-Six Hope Road Music Ltd and Bob Marley Music Inc. have been replicating three of his copyrighted images of Bob Marley on T-shirts onto other objects without his consent and have been selling them worldwide. Zamoyski is now suing the Marley family for compensation. He did have an agtreement before where he received royalies but his company shutdownand according to him theMarleysarestillrepicatingtheimages.
