The South by Southwest Music and Media Conference, the premier showcasing opportunity in America for independent and underground acts is coming to Austin TX once again. From March 13-22 patrons can go from venue to venue in the heart of the city and listen to a range of sounds from metal to jazz to reggae and hip-hop.

I was there a couple years ago performing with Realness AKA Ness and the M.O.V.E band. Awesome experience! Big ups to you Elliot (a Trinimerican). Big-ups to Angel and all the other band members especially my Puerto Rican pretend Baby Daddy Walter AKA Misoulinni!

Apart from artists, the event sees bloggers, and other media personalities, industry professionals such as managers, booking agents, and promoters. So it is an excellent networking and marketing opportunity.

Companies such as Quick Silver, Sony Erickson, Rolling Stone Magazine, Blender and Vibe and media giants BBC and NPR Radio spend the entire week in the city, jsut scouting for new music.

On September 30^th, the Bajan Reggae/Rock/Alternative artist David Kirton will launch his album Time For Change. Two songs, including the popular “Free to Fly” were recorded at Salaam Remi's Studios in Miami and the rest at Slam City Studios in Barbados with producers like Chris Allman and De Red Boyz

I guess distribution will be done by Nova Pinnacle, the UK's number 1 distribution company since he recently signed a deal with them.
