CHERINE is spreading her wings and winning over new fans one show at time. Cherine, who was recently honored with the "Vocalist of the Year 2009" award at the 6th Annual EME Awards, is currently on a 47 date North American arena tour, joining Michael Franti and Spearhead to open for multi-platinum selling, Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter John Mayer. Recently, the tour hit Canada with an energetic, sold out show at Toronto's Air Canada Center. Cherine, performing with Franti and Spearhead, are set to play to similar audiences in Ottawa and Montreal before heading back stateside. Mayer's "Battle Studies" tour started a little over a week ago in South Florida and will wrap up in Chicago in April.
Franti's Impact:
Cherine, whose talents were featured on several tracks on Franti and Spearhead's latest album All Rebel Rockers, including the Billboard Chart topping hit "Say Hey (I Love You)", continues to fly the Jamaican flag very high, sharing her brand of Dancehall Soul music with the world. This is Cherine's first arena tour, and from updates on her YouTube channel "CherineTV" , it is clear that the songbird is having a great time. Regarding Cherine's rapidly progressing career, she spoke of her recently released video for her powerful song "Shine On Jamaica" and said, "Every night is a new opportunity to shine on this tour." She continued, "The fans that are coming out for the tour are so amazing. The arenas are mostly full by the time we hit the stage, and by the end of the set people are standing and dancing. Being a part of this amazing show with the high energy of the audience is truly rewarding. "
Mayer's Impact:
Cherine, who is a big fan of Mayer's music, says, "The first show of the tour I was like a kid in a candy store. I got to watch his show from the sound box (in the middle of the arena). Just being in the midst of the crowd and feeling the energy of the thousands of fans and singing along to all the songs was an incredible feeling. I am learning so much on this tour, and I'll take a lot of positive experiences forward with me. I enjoy meeting the many music fans throughout the tour and thank them for their support."

Cherine Anderson may be the first Jamaican female artist in recent times to hit not one but five Billboard charts simultaneously. The feat brings about another first in Anderson's short career, as she might also be the first Jamaican female singer to register a song on the Billboard Rock Charts.
The Dancehall Soulstress is featured with Michael Franti & Spearhead on the Sly & Robbie produced smash hit "Say Hey (I Love You)", which has been added to many US top 40 radio and AAA radio stations in the past three weeks. The song peaked at #1 on Billboard Heatseekers charts 6 weeks ago and has been steadily climbing other charts. Currently "Say Hey (I Love You)" is #21 on the Billboard Hot 100, #48 on the Billboard Rock chart, #14 on the Digital Songs chart, #22 on the Pop Songs chart and #43 on The Radio Songs chart.
There is no stopping dubstyleSinger/Songwriter Cherine Anderson out of East Kingston, Jamaica She performed at three of Barack Obama's Inaugural Balls earlier this year. She has also performed at the World Special Olympics in Idaho and is currently promoting her first official release The Introduction - Dubstyle on tours in the US, Australia and Europe with Sly and Robbie, Michael Fronti and Spearhead, Slightly Stoopid and Pepper.
"The Introduction - Dubstyle" which is available on iTunes is a combination of dancehall, soul and lover's rock and is produced by Grammy winning producers Sly and Robbie, David Norland, Gussie Clarke and Errol Brown among others.
The talented Anderson not only performs, but she also wrote all nine songs and co-produced several of the tracks.

Known as the "Princess of Dancehall Soul" Cherine has been earning her stripes. She's a singer, producer, director, and acclaimed actress. She starred in Choices on MTV Tempo, and the movies One Love and Dancehall Queen. She is the darling of legendary reggae producers Sly and Robbie as she has several reggae and dancehall hits produced by them, and she recently won the Caribbean Urban Music Award for 'Best Female Vocalist'. Now she is making headway on the international scene with Sir Paul McCartney ( if you don't know you better ask yuh muddah) Bootsy Collins, Wyclef, Britney Spears and most recently, Madonna-- a music industry Icon.
