Judah Tribe reggae band just announced the global release of the controversial single "Judgment" which coincides with the 2nd anniversary of the death of Sean Bell who was killed by NYPD officers on his wedding day. The song was a tribute to him and is available through online retailers such as iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, Napster, and Zune.

The release follows the performance of Judah Tribe at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). Les Paultre, lead guitarist of Judah Tribe, father the father of Sean Bell's wife-to-be Nicole Paultre, who introduced the song to the audience.

Greensleeves recording artist, Fantan Mojah, today released his album Stronger. A much anticipated follow up to his debut Hail The King.
The album gives production credits to procucers such as Frenchie ("Stronger"), Shane Brown, Jam 2, Pow Pow, Lion Vibes and Special Delivery ("Can't Frame I").

A Little Trivia: Capleton suggested the name change from Mad Killa to Fantan Moja to reflect his rasta beliefs!

Officially VP Records will release Energy God: The Very of Best Elephant Man on February 17, 2009. But Amazon.com says you can preorder for a Jan. 27 release. The 18 track album and DVD covers his best tracks of the last decade. The DVD themed "Living La Vida Ele" shows him at his Jamaican residence and in electrifying live performances.

Well I had already mentioned this album on a previous post, however I had no album cover. Well thanks to a new blogpost on Jah Cure's page, here it is!

Tempo is still celebrating their third anniversary. The party continues in Nassau Bahamas this Saturday with a concert featuring the likes of Luciano, Alison Hinds, Ce'Cile and Ziggy Rankin. There will also be several local acts like Landlord, Sammie Star, Peter Runkes, Puzzle, Bodine Johnson, Alma Knowles, Royal Blood and Kenyatta Taylor.

Look for Tempo VJ's Jah Bami (Cross Caribbean Countdown), Lydia Patel (Tempo News), Jamie Thomas (Rise & Shine) and Nikki D. )Live & Direct) on stage along with local VJ's Crystal Bethel and Sheena.

On Wednesday November 19th D'Vybz band will debut their first release for St. Kitts Carnival on WINN FM's Killing Time Drive (KYD) with DJ GQ. The song is called "Get On So". It is the first single from their upcoming album All About the Music.

Their previous albums were 2007's Life and their debut album in 2006 No turning Back.

In that short space of time, D'Vybz has become one of St Kitts top musical acts.

Byron Lee, bandleader of Byron Lee and the Drangoneers, died of cancer on November 4th at the University of the Hospital of the West Indies at aged 73. He had flown there only days before to there to accept his Order of Jamaica award from his hospital bed. Lee was a talented musician and shrewd businessman combining the two to enable Jamaican artists to play a more significant role in how they were treated in the music industry. He also was instrumental in the creation of Jamaica carnival.

Speaking of carnival, regards to Mr. Selman Lewis, the Chairman of the Miami Carnival Committee, who suffered a heart attack this Monday. He is recuperating at an area hospital.

Well Mr. Winchester is about to fly the coup and break ties (amicably) with his longtime band Caribbean Traffik Jam better known throughout the world of soca as Traffik. "D" day...get it? D day....aight all who understand me buss a wine (lol) ...like I was eloquently statin, the official date is October 16th....

The Caribbean American Carnival Association of Baltimore celebrates Caribbean heritage at the 2008 Showcase of Nations Ethnic Festivals presented by Mayor Sheila Dixon and the Baltimore Office of Promotion and The Arts.

Weekend activities will held in Druid Hill Park on Friday, July 11 from 5pm to 10pm and Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13 from noon to 9pm.
