17-year old Carlton Grant Jr., son of Reggae and Dancehall superstar Spragga Benz, was murdered in Kingston on August 23rd. He was shot by police. Allegedly he was shot after he surrendered --WITH HIS HANDS IN THE AIR. He was shot again after he fell to the ground. Of course the police say he was armed and they were compelled to chase and subsequently shoot him.
Police drove him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. His mother was with him. His father was in New York at the time. Our condolences go out to Spragga Benz and his family.
