Emmy and Golden globe nominated comedian Bernie Mac has died at age 50.

He passed away this morning (August 9th) from complications to pneumonia in Chicago, the city of his birth. The comedian suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body's organs, but had said the condition went into remission in 2005. Acording to hispublicist Danica Smith his death was not related to this condition.
Mac is well known for his role on the Bernie Mac Show where he played father to his sister's three children with his own brand of discipline and his gut-busting monologues where he lets out his emotions to "America" usually pleading with the audience to understand why he disciplines the way he does, or just venting: saying what he really wants to say but can't on account of the kids!
Branded as a King of Comedy, Mac was well loved by many in the industry. He recently got some flack for his routine at a recent Obama fundraiser , but overall I can say that Bernie Mac should rest in peace that he touched so many lives with his talent, bringing them joy and laughter!
