Here are the Caribbean representatives for the 2008 Miss Universe Pageant which will be held on Sunday July 13th in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, Vietnam. Click on each contestant's name to see their video, read their interview and watch more pics!

After watching their videos, my top pics are Trinidad & Tobago(to me she is very relaxed and genuine in front of the camera and thinks well on her feet), then Cayman Islands (the earrings hitting the chain was kind of annoying but she definitely has personality). Antigua could pass too, she comes off a bit childish but still endearing.
And while you're at it check out the other contestants too??? Why do some of these girls try so hard to speak English when its not their native or even second tongue. Not to laugh anyone, bless her for trying but check out Miss Vietnam's video. Please let her use a translator on Sunday.
The Miss Universe Pageant airs at 9PM ET on NBC.
Congrats to Jenneillia Julius winner of the 2008 Queen of the Islands Pageant in Canada. She represented Trinidad & Tobago.

1st Runner Up--Jamie Ellis (St Lucia)
2nd Runner Up--Trician-Renee Edwards (Montserrat / Grenada)
3rd Runner Up--Michelle Paul (Dominica)
4th Runner Up--Marsha Clyne (Grenada)
The pageant was created by basketballer Jamaal Magloire who plays for the Dallas Mavericks and is of Trinidadian Heritage.
Congrats to Skinny Fabulous (Gamal Omar Doyle) who won the Soca Monarch Title in St Vincent & The Grenadines this past weekend. He dethroned the six-time defending champion Fireman Hooper with his rendition "Me Head Bad". This win automatically enters him into the International Soca Monarch which will take place in Trinidad & Tobago on Fantastic Friday. Click here to read more about the event and Vincy Mas.
Tongues are really wagging right now about Jamelody, a Trinidadian Reggae/RnB Crooner, who in a recent interview with Sunday Gleaner, in some peoples opinion "dissed" soca music. Out of the entire interview which is the typical, how did you get into music --who influenced you --what do you want to achieve, interview; the quote in question is "I didn't grow up in that lifestyle with carnival. The vibe they put into the music (soca) make no sense. You wouldn't want your child to be singing that. I rather listen a song that my youths can relate to."
I personally understand that he was a bit sheltered as a child, growing up Seventh -day adventist, and soca wasn't his thing. To me though, it was apoor choice of words...All soca is not crap, even humorous soca like those of Sparoww and Crazy serve their purpose. How can soca be bad when it's just asking revellers to show national pride and jump and wave and burn some calories.....OH by the way Jamelody not all reggae is elevated. I just have two words for you ::"passa, passa".
