OK Clovis we get it already...you think that violent lyrics in Dancehall are directly reponsible for crime and now its coming back to bite the artists that spew them. But dang how many times this week are you gonna try to force this view down the throat of everyone that visits your papers site??? One for each artist that gets shot????

Here is the most recent carton, showing Oneil Edwards (of Voicemail) and Mad Cobra in a hospital bed, being chided for not going to church. So I guess being a member of a church means that crime in Jamaica would be reduced ...like seriously???? Do you know how much crime is done in the name of religion??? But that is another post....

This cartoon below was the first one which was done this week that addressed violence against artists in Dancehall. The thing is Oneil Edwards does not spew violence in his music so the timing was a bit off. Ok so Mad Cobra gets shot up and now a producer from Arms House records is shot, here comes another cartoon (above).

I think it is more than insesitive. Even if it was Vybz Kartel that got shot up, it is still wrong.

OOOO Lisa Hype you picked the wrong itch to fuck wid. Spice totally killed her- lyrically speaking of course. Spice released a statement in response to Lisa Hype's "Sting Aftermath" diss song on which she along with other female Dancehall artists are mentioned,

Spice says:

"Lisa Hype, I mean Lisa Swipe is in no position to utter the words she did from her mouth, but I honestly feel very sorry for her. She's going through a shameful time in her life right now and is obviously lookingfor a dark hole to stick her head in. Lisa Swipe is calling names to keep her name out there; but my name? She ah play wid fire. She know say she nuh bad like mi likkle fingah. Di time she tek ah pick pon difemale artiste dem, she need fi go clean off di discharge offah harstomach. She ah gwaan like ah me tek har pictuh an sen' it out. And it's such a pity. Outta every female artiste name whe she call, she ahdi crawniest one. She feavah Geico lizard. I've been in the business for 10 years and I've never stooped so low, just to get highlighted. But Lisa doesn't know when to stop stooping and get up off her knees. It's tragic. Let me not bother to go there because she is not in my world. Lisa, as a woman-to-woman, I have never been as humiliated asyou are in my life, so I have no idea what you are going through. I canonly imagine. So I wish you a speedy recovery,"

Speaking of her non-performance at Sting, she adds:

"Nuffy sabotaged my thing. After Pamputae performed, he knew it should have been me, but he called up General B instead. When did he expect meto perform after that? During the clash with him and KipRich. It was unprofessional and it was done purposely because before that he was following the lineup and list. I just want to apologise to my fans fornot performing. I didn't get the chance to and I had a real end of year performance in store."

Yow this chune is bad!

According to one876 entertainment Lisa Hyper just laughed in response:

"Spice can stay de gwaan talk, tell her say mi have her file."

Well Lisa Hype have to come real good to beat that and she have to have a hefty file cabinet!!!!

Come on ladies, let's play nice in the new year...

Since her release from Portmore Empire, by her boss and mentor Vybz Kartel, Lisa Hype has issued a statement:

Lisa Hype and Vybz Kartel in happier days.

“I’ve just been released from my contract with the Portmore Empire but even though I am no longer the first lady of the Gaza, mi still ah say Gaza. Death before dishonour. Mi nuh haffi be a part of the Empire fi still say Gaza. Gaza means fight for what you believe in and never give up…never say die. In every setback, there is an opportunity fi grow and right now, mi not going to stop, ah persistence mi say…all mi name change, my new name is Lisa HYPER. As a solo artist, mi can explore new directions, new challenges, and new freedoms, mi ah go mek it. I want to thank everyone at Portmore Empire for the love and support they’ve shown me and to the Teacha especially who enlightened me to nuff tings inna the world. Mi love everybody same way, nothing no change, memba say mi ah the first lady fi put Gaza pon mi knuckles and Empire pon mi neck . Mi wish everybody the best. Gaza fi life. Gaza till death.”

Guess she just trying to go out with her head up. But her diss of several artists in the idustry just totally countered that. It's a lame song. Not lyrically captivating. Whoever is advising her need to come again. There are people on your side Lisa, focus on you and don't try to bring any body else down just because people did it to you. On a previous post I mentioned that Lisa Hype has been keeping a low profile since the picture of her leaked online. Her birthday was last week and she did celebrate the following day, but not at The Building at the Street Vyvz Thursdays hosted by Portmore Empire, but down the street and around the corner at Quad:

According to one876Entertainment.com
Lisa Hype partied up a storm in the Quad nightclub last night as she celebrated her birthday in fine style with a couple of her deejay friends who happened to be in the club on the same night. She danced and sipped Moet all night and spoke to her fans who came over to offer her support. The crowd gave her a huge forward for her Bills combination hit with Gaza Kim. "When I came in the club, the place just get gigi, the people were excited mi coulda feel dem energy. Tifa came over and she was very supportive. She said she didn't know I was a Sagitarius like her and she was very kind to me and bought me a drink. I danced and had a good time, I even danced with one of my fans dem. The fans have been very supportive, but there are small-minded people in the media who have their own agenda, but the fans love Lisa Hype, I know that now," she said. Big up Timberlee and my friend Crystal who were also in the club last night. Yu shoulda see mi dress, it did a shock, a one in a million ting, and big up to the Quad deejays, dem play six ah mi song dem. Thanks for the support."

Felicia Gooden, the artist known as Lias Hype turned 21 today. I'm sure she is smarting from the picture of her giving oral sex, being plastered all over the net. However, I heard that prior to that she was set for a grand birthday celebration.

So it was less than a month ago that I went to Vybz Thursdays at The Building (formerly Asylum) in New Kingston. and the DJ's and artists alike are encouranging the crowd, men and women alike to be as vocal as they possibly could about thier distaste for oral sex. I didn't see Lisa Hype at that exact time, but I am sure she was proclaiming that she nah bow, she nah suck bud ray ray ray....well damn...she got found out ya'll. NOT that I care, I already know half these artists who talk about not dong oral just full of shit and they getting down behind closed doors; which is why when I see the crowd repeating and emulating their words with such conviction like I saw in the club, it just makes this situation even more pitiful.

You're looking for the picture of her sucking dick right? Sorry not posting it. But you can click HERE if you must. Anyhow she issued a statement about the whole situation.

First, I would like to say that there is no excuse for a picture
of that nature
to be a part of the public domain. I admit that the
picture is real, but it captures a personal act done in the privacy of my
bedroom. I don't know how that got leaked to the media and condemn anyone who
would stoop to such a low.
However, I understand that I am a public person,
and when I say or do something, either articulated and thought out, it carries
weight in the public arena. As a result, I must assume personal responsibility
for my actions. I would like to apologise specifically to all my female fans who
might be disappointed to see me in this light. However, Idon't apologise for the
act itself because it was done with a man that I truly and deeply love and
respect, and it was done in the privacy of my bedroom. I did it, so what?

I would also like to apologise to my family who are truly and deeply
hurt by the dissemination of the photo all over the Internet and the media. This
is not cool. And this is not funny. This is my life that some unscrupulous
person is attempting to destroy, but I am astrong young woman and I will
survive. Many young women, like myself, have been exploited and hurt in this way
and there comes a point in everyone's life when they have to stop allowing
people to hurt them. Iam begging young girls across Jamaica to use my life as an
example: we live in a male-dominated society but don't allow men to use and
abuse you. I have learned my lesson the hard way. The world is a tough
classroom, sometimes.
In closing, I want to say thank you to all my young
fans who have supported me in this, my darkest hour.

Good luck girl. Doh feel too bad lots of girls do it too zeen. Just wish I could have seen the face that c%*k belonged too.....Some say Kartel...I say they packing...lol.

Making it a FREE event, Moka invites everyone to come celebrate this Friday, November 6, 2009 in Queens, New York.Serani dropped his debut album No Games worldwide on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 on the Universal Republic imprint. Fresh, fresh, fresh, as fresh gets, here is your first peek at Mr. Vegas video for "Gallis" and "Sassa Step." Now what I love about Mr. Vegas is that his songs always have energy-- you just want to dance, and if you can daaance, you want to show off on the dancefloor.lol.

The "Sassa Step" video pays hommage to Michael Jackson combining the concept of the dance off from the "Bad" video and part of "Thriller" minus the scary stuff-you'll figure it out. Although I did not vote for Shy-N of Japan, he won the Sassa Step contest and is in the video.

Aight, so I went to Altantic with my friends on Sunday and the vibe was nice.

Now this was at SugarMan's Beach and this is 'Gaza' territory so-to-speak or so I was told rather. The party was organized by and was promoting Vybz' Rum Street Vybz

This was prominently displyed, there was one with the model's face cut out so patrons (ladies I hope) could pose with Vybz

The drink mixes were off the chain, and there were enough things going on to keep patrons occupied-body painting, mechanical bull riding, Street Vybz and Suppligen,Street Vybz and Red Bull, sand, swings, ocean, jerk chicken, and more Vybz rum to wash it down. Sounds like a nice time right? Well it basically was but something occurred which just prompted me to write this post.

Nuff mixes-- they were named after Vybz Kartel songs.

Like I said--there was lots to do..

Aight so this DJ named Ice from Zip FM, played a Mavado dubplate. Now 75% of the music was Vybz Kartel and Portmore Empire etc, no one minded of course cause they were all fans, ya feel me. Well after a couple seconds of the tune (sorry I forgot which one-too much Vybz in mi system maybe) music stop and he start talking about how he play all music and basically that he not gonna be bias ray, ray, ray, rah, rah, rah. The thing that impressed me was that the host of the event (or maybe it was another DJ) said nah man it's your turn..come back and play. Which he did do-sans any Mavado.

Ok. I said all this to ask: Should Ice have played Mavado, knowing the current beef, and even if he dispelled that, knowing that this was a Vybz Kartel event? Or is it petty of those close to the DJ area to comment to the point where the DJ stops playing. It's just music right???

I want to add to that no one in the crowd booed or complained or anything so I assumrf DJ Ice heard complaints close to him. Some sites state his was paged. His first song was Alison Hinds and Machel so you know I loved him instantly... by the time things wound down...it got a bid dry as some newer songs I didnt really know were playing...

I had a good time for the most part and watching some people ride the bull was umm interesting...lol...Click HERE for all the action...

ya and I had to add her pic...best swimsuit in the house..classy and oh so sexy. Luv it!

Big up to Anyweh.com for the pics!!!

From the Jamaica Observer:

Sean Paul might be in Switzerland, but that won't stop his fourth studio album, Imperial Blaze, from continuing to blaze fire on the Billboard charts in the US.

The album, his first in four years, has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Rap Album charts, toppling the likes of Eminem, Fabolous and Twista to top the charts.

This is his first time atop the rap album charts, and his second time on the Billboard Rap Album charts overall as his third studio album, The Trinity, peaked at #3 on the rap charts in 2005. It is also the first time a Jamaican artiste is topping that chart.

Sean Paul is also sitting comfortably atop the Billboard Reggae Album Charts, ahead of a Bob Marley compilation, Ziggy Marley's Family Time, and VP Record's Reggae Gold.

Imperial Blaze is heading for international success, debuting at #1 when it was released in the dancehall-hungry Asian nation of Japan last week, selling upwards of 50,000 copies in its first week. He topped the Oricon Weekly International Album Sales chart, the first time he has done so, and is holding his own on the Billboard Canadian Albums, France Albums, and European Albums with positions #5, #8 and #20 respectively.

Aside from those charts, Imperial Blaze is also #3 on the R&B/Hip Hop Album Charts, #12 on the Billboard 200, and #9 on the Digital Downloads charts.

The platinum-selling dancehall superstar, hailed by Essence.com - the online outfit of the popular North American publication Essence Magazine - as the "dancehall king", is now celebrating his first time atop the competitive rap charts.

"Anytime a song or an album makes it on a chart, I get excited, and now to be able to top the Billboard Top Rap Album charts is something that I'm especially excited about. Not because it's the Billboard charts, but because it's a dancehall album. It's made in Jamaica by Jamaicans. So I didn't top the Billboard Rap Album Charts, Jamaica did," said Sean Paul from Switzerland.
