Freddie McGregor and John Holt performed at the debut ofRegae Symphony at theBroward Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA) last year. This year there is no John Holt, but Freddie (ageless smile) returns with Marica Griffiths, and Bob Andy on Sunday March 29th.

They will be accompanied by Lloyd Parkes' We the People Band, and the Reggae Strings Orchestra as they perform from an extensive repertoire of recordings. Guest performing is saxaphonist Dean Fraser.

All three performers have been awarded the Commander of Distinction by the Government of Jamaica for their achievements, and contributions to the development of the island's musical heritage.

Reggae Symphony was introduced to the Broward Center following an alliance forged with the Consulate General of Jamaica, resulting in a range of successful performances, including the National Dance Theatre Company of Jamaica, Dem Three Jamaican Tenors, and Jamaica Farewell. The Broward Center also housed the annual Reggae Soca Awards, produced by veteran South Florida media personality, Winsome Charlton of Hi Class Promotions.

Presentation of this genre of music in its classical presentation has captivated audiences on several world stages like Madison Square Gardens and Lincoln Center in New York, the Hammerstein Ballroom in London as well as in Canada and Jamaica.

On "Peanut Man" Toots Hibbert and Kirkle Dove create a refreshing international sound by fusing vintage vibes with modern production. The track "River Bed", featuring Aisha Davis, is Bennett's dub reprise of his smash Dutchpot Riddim, the same riddim that launched Mr Vegas hit "Tek Weh Yuhself" in 2008, and is sure to take over the dancefloor again. Not to be left out, Mr. Vegas returns with "Daggering", a playful, mento induced track to make even the stiffest of hips move to the beat.
