So there's a video of Amy Winehouse freestlying on You Tube freestyling lines such as "O snap, I never knew um that well Im a Jew...well a Jew-maican...anyway if you could smoke bacon....then um I reckon...umm ah I never knew Zalon was so good at drums...it kinda makes me feel more dumb:..... ecetera ecetera
Not bad really. The music was nice but that dude Zalon totally stole the show. Check him out at zalononline.com. He's cute too and homeboy can saaaang!

ya'll are gonna think I'm just making this ish up but I was on Berklee College of Music site yesterday doing some research and I was reading the who's who of entertainers who went to the school. Quincy Jones is in the class of '51, and Kevin Eubanks who played Bass on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno graduated inf '79, Juan Luis Guerra made the class of '82 and John Mayer class of 98. So I was saying to myself, short of John Mayer, most of the people on the list whose names I recognized graduated decades ago as in 20 plus years. So I was thinking to myself who am I gonna see on TV one of these days and find out they are a very recnt Berklee graduate? And wham Wyclef Jean announces that he is going to Berklee.
Well actually he did it before I went on the site, (at the Congressional Black Caucus Phoenix Awards in Washington DC actually)but that was just so serendipitous , if that is the word, lol. I love it when someone walks the talk, man. Good luck Wyclef I know you are gonna make a big impact on more than just the school.
According to Clef:
"I am enrolling in Berklee College in Boston to get my bachelor's degree in music! That's how important education is to me. I plan to work with Rev. Sharpton because that's how important stressing the importance of education to children is to me."
And check him out in this video below. He is doing a photo shoot for Western Union for his upcoming gift card for the holidays to benefit Yele Haiti.
Just type Mashonda, Alica Keys, or Swizz Beatz in the search box on this site and most of the recent entries revolve around the allegations that Alicia Keys broke up their marriage (or at least played a significant role). Well here is more news. Seems, (well maybe that's not the right words, cause she really did to it) Mashonda wrote an open letter to Keys about how she felt Keys was disrespecting her as the 'wife' and mother of Swizz son.
The Twitter post was in response to atweet of Keys: "Having a heated debate n the studio. Question is…N love is it better to go 4 the choice that is ‘SMART’ or the choice that has ‘SPARK’??” Mashonda answered the question, but not before she put her thoughts on the table. Seems like she is very hurt, so I don't know what to make of her attending his birthday party thrown by Keys. Read on and make your own decisions.

Rumormill is saying that Chanel Iman and Sessilee Lopez "have been getting into brawls at Fashion Week."
Here they are in an Allure Magazine fashion spread. Sessilee is on the right.
They are both in Milan. How much fighting can you do backstage where there are a ton of people and you barely have time to undress and redress. I personally don't believe the hype. Sessilee Lopez has roots in the Dominican Republic. To learn more about her go to her very frequently updated site by clicking HERE.

Ok so Sharon Burke posted online a couple days ago that she was headed to South Africa, I figured that meant that Etana was gonna be there and yes I was correct, except here's the interesting note.
She is being Managed by Irish and Chin and booked by Headline Entertainment. So being the likkle investigator that I are a(if you know Bounty Killa you WILL find this funny), I went to investigating. So on Etana's site it does state that Irish and Chin is Management and Headline is the contact for bookings however she is still under Solid's roster of artists that they book. Now is this an oversight??? or just something that will be quickly taken care of after the transitional period???
Oh yeah and she is in Johannesburg for the 2009 Arts Alive Festiva. Etana’s participation in the Festival was organized as a cultural exchange through a cooperative agreement between the the governments of Jamaica and South Africa. Her week-long trip to South Africa will culminate with two highly anticipated performances at the Soweto Festival on September 25 and the Eldo Jazz Day Festival on September 27, and she will be gigging at some local clubs.
This is not her first trip to Africa. to find out the two other African nations Etana has visited click HERE
And go to our interview page to read her interview with The Lime!

Cherine Anderson may be the first Jamaican female artist in recent times to hit not one but five Billboard charts simultaneously. The feat brings about another first in Anderson's short career, as she might also be the first Jamaican female singer to register a song on the Billboard Rock Charts.
The Dancehall Soulstress is featured with Michael Franti & Spearhead on the Sly & Robbie produced smash hit "Say Hey (I Love You)", which has been added to many US top 40 radio and AAA radio stations in the past three weeks. The song peaked at #1 on Billboard Heatseekers charts 6 weeks ago and has been steadily climbing other charts. Currently "Say Hey (I Love You)" is #21 on the Billboard Hot 100, #48 on the Billboard Rock chart, #14 on the Digital Songs chart, #22 on the Pop Songs chart and #43 on The Radio Songs chart.
