The Jamaican Reggae/Dancehall artist arrived in the airport to a huge crowd of screaming fans. Sizzla and his delegation accompanied several government officials to various events and places of interest. He was invited by the President of The Gambia his Excellency Alhaji Ya Yah Jammeh to his Juramba Farm in Kanilai. President Jammeh and Sizzla Kalonji spent the day harvesting rice on a multi-acre rice field, introduced agricultural ventures, and discussed several issues around repatriations, reparations and education.

Kalonji made a commitment to be a Musical Ambassador for The Gambia as well as serve as a bridge between The Gambia and the Diaspora. He also proclaimed his desire to become an honorary citizen of the Gambia. One of Sizzla’s goals for the Gambia is to assist the music industry, build a studio for the youth, help the schools, build more hospitals, and assist in different areas of Gambia’s development. He also advocated that President Jammeh open a Gambian Embassy in Jamaica.

Sizzla Kalonji was also invited by the Minister of Information and Communication, Honorable Fatim Badjie as her chief guest at her wedding alongside the Vice President of The Gambia, Her Excellency Isatou Njie Saidy. The Major General of The Gambian Army also had an official meeting with Sizzla and his delegation where he presented Kalonji with an award for his work.

Entrenched in the foundation of Rastafarian teachings and philosophy, Sizzla Kalonji has been building a network and meeting the right people to assist in bringing the Diaspora to The Gambia. He met with the Minister of Health, Honorable Dr. Mbowe at the Royal Victoria Hospital where he toured the hospital and gave support plus love to the sick.

There isn’t any community that Sizzla goes where hundreds of the local citizens of The Gambia don’t rush towards him, just to touch his hand or take a glimpse of him. When Kalonji visited the Bakau Primary School, the children went chaotic at his sight, excited with joy to see the Reggae phenomenon. The country prepares to see Sizzla’s first performance in Africa on December 25th and 29th at the Independence Stadium and December 27th at the Brikama Mini-Stadium.

Betts Promotion, Rebel T Music and Kalonji Records bring these activities to you. Members of his delegation include Jesse Jendah, Princess Menen, Betts Promotion staff, Rebel T Music staff, Kalonji Records staff and Firehouse Band.
