From Dominica Film Commissioner Anita Bully:
There is a call for submission of films for the 2010 Caribbean Film Showcase. These must be works made during 2008, 2009 and 2010.
The First Travelling Caribbean Film Showcase was shown in 19 countries in the region and was welcomed by the American Cinematique in Hollywood and the British Museum in London. It also received special acknowledgement from UNESCO during its presentation in its seat in Paris.
The Second Travelling Caribbean Film Showcase at the request of UNICEF was devoted to children and adolescents and its exhibiting program encompassed 27 countries in the island and continental Caribbean.
The Third Travelling Caribbean Film Showcase intends to embrace most of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean and will include films in which Caribbean authors present the real life of the Caribbean Diaspora in the world and also, films by non-Caribbean authors whose stories offer a true approach to the realities of our region. A section of this will be devoted to films for children and adolescents.
Persons who have films that can qualify are asked to contact this office urgently as the deadline was set for today June 10, 2009. For persons who are in the process of completing works please contact me urgently so that I can see what the latest date they will accept films now being produced.
Please note all films must be submitted in either DVD,DVCAM or VHS format, in NTSC norm and exceptionally in PAL norm.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
