The 12th annual World Creole Music Festival was launched in Dominica last week. This year's festival coincides with Dominica's 30th anniversary of Independence. Patron's can look forward to Dominican favorites like Nasio Fontaine, WCK, Triple Kay, Belles Combo and Julie Mourillon of Exile One (notably absent is Midnight Groovers one of pioneers of cadance music on the Island). Haitian acts inclue Carimi, Tabou Combo and Djakout Mizik. It would be nice to see Wyclef back in Dominica--he was very well recieved when he performed at WCMF. African artist Oliver N'Goma and Guadeloupean zouk megaband Kassav will be there as well!!!
