This year's sponsors include Air Jamaica, the Jamaica Tourist Board, Digicel, Ocean Spray and Jamrock Magazine. Quite obviously absent is former sponsor Red Stripe. The Jamaican beer company withdrew its title sponsorship after seven years because of what they see as the promotion of negative aspects of dancehal music, namely profanity and homophobic lyrics of some artists.

Reggae Sumfest has been presented consecutively since its launch in 1993 by Summer Fest Productions, headed by Executive Director Johnny Gourzong and Chairman Robert Russell. recently earned 'Promoter of the Year' and 'Concert of the Year' at the 27th Annual International Reggae and World Music Awards on May 4.
