John Travolta with his son Jett who passed away at the family's vacation home in the Bahamas

From Yahoo! News:
Authorities in the Bahamas have detained an island lawmaker and a paramedic
in an alleged plot to extort money from actor John Travolta after the death of his son, police said Friday.

One of the suspects, ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne, was detained on Friday. Earlier, several tabloids quoted him describing efforts to revive the celebrity's chronically ill son, Jett, who died of a seizure this month at their family vacation home on Grand Bahama.

Authorities did not reveal what the alleged extortion involved. Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston returned home to Florida with the ashes of their 16-year-old son, and Travolta's publicist Paul Bloch said Friday he has no comment.

Sen. Pleasant Bridgewater, an attorney from Grand Bahama, has been held for questioning since Thursday, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Marvin Dames told The Associated Press.

Dames said Lightbourne was detained after police issued an alert that he was wanted for attempted extortion, was "considered dangerous and should be approached with caution."

Another member of the Bahamas parliament, Obie Wilchcombe, was aiding the investigation.

Dames said Wilchcombe, a friend of the Travolta family, was brought to a police station to help authorities determine what charges if any to file against the two suspects.

Click HERE to see a video of Fay Ann Lyons-Alvarez on Synergy TV. She says she is "pregnant. not sick" so why can't she perform????? She is the wife of Bunji Garlin another soca powerhouse and they are expecting their first child. One thing I must say, I am definitely looking forward to her outfit for the finals. Usually its a barely there costume (and she have the body to pull it off, eh) so it will be interesting what getup she creates for this year's show. She is one of the semi finalists in the 2009 International Power Soca Monarch competition.

Rihanna looks ravishing in this yellow outfit. Unfortunately her performance did not go down to well for whoever was representing the Washington Post.Photo source

Here's the review:
Then it was time for Rihanna. Just as quickly it was time to leave. The Barbados native was her usual intimidatingly beautiful self in a sparkling silver dress and some equally flashy hoop earrings. She and a four-piece band and pair of backup singers fumbled their way through “Disturbia” — it sure seemed like there was a lot of lip-synching and a recorded track. Then there was a five-minute break. Then, an equally awkward version of “Rehab” and half a cover of M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes.” Then another stage exit. And no return. “We are experiencing power problems and are unable to continue. Rihanna would like to apologize.” What’s stopping her?

Fifteen minutes later , some crew members started breaking down the equipment on stage, the DJ fired up some tunes from when people still actually bought albums, and I left.

D'Angel's new single is called 'Thank You' featuring Aisha. Some people are wondering if she's gone gospel????? What? So now to be happy and count your blessings mean you're "gospel". Well let's bet she's always been "gospel" cause I'm sure this is not the first time she says things like:
I give thanks for my pain and struggles - which made me so strong,
I give thanks to my friends and foes - they make me, who I am,
I give thanks and the good Lord knows that's where I will stand

The song was produced by Carlington Wilmot of Media House Production on the Ghetto Soul Riddim. Other songs on the riddim are Delus with 'True Love', Gyptian with the 'Crazy World', Sizzla with 'Best In Life' and Shalli with 'In Heaven'. The riddim was created by Duwe and all tracks were mixed by D&H (Daddy and Hype ) aka Tha Remix Godz

I like this side of D'angel. Click here to listen to Thank You on her MySpace Page. Another inspirational song she has is Stronger. The video is awesome, and is directed by Ras Tingle.

I know some people are singing the praises of the movie Notorious based on the life of Christopher 'Notorious B.I.G' Wallace, (also known as Biggie) and yes some are also seeing it as slanted especially when it comes to the depiction of Lil Kim. That I cannot really make judgment on cause I have yet to see the movie and I was not there when what ever was going down was goin down. Only two people can tell us: BIG and KIM and well, we know how that story ends. My only issue with what I have seen of the movie is most of the characters are based on people who are still alive and nobody looks like any one they are portraying. Doesn't have to be spot on but dang Angela Bassett as Voletta??? No disrespect. Could we get someone a little Voletta-looking? My issue with Jamal Gravy Woolard who plays Biggy is his lips. For me, its not just enough to be the fat guy. Have you ever looked at Biggy's lips??? They are full and plump and when he speaks or spits everything just flows. Easy and ting. And when you hear him talk and breathing heavy, what you looking at? His lips. And when he just standing doing nothing, what you looking at? His lips. You get my flow....
Now this guy who plays Biggy. Look at his lips. There is so much tension there and it translates on screen. He just does not have the lips of a gangster. I know some of you are probably like . Is she for real??? Ok think about this. Have you ever seen pics of celebrities and Dr's and body language experts are asked to interpret the body language to explain say, their relationship with a mate or how comfortable they are in a situation? Well when I see him speak in the trailer I'm just like where is your swagger? and why your lips so uptight? Am I tripping allu? Am I rally trippin? Anyways........ in other Jamal news. He is due in court.

According to YBF, he is facing assault charges stemming from an alleged altercation with his wife. He was arrested 3 months ago in September. Who knew this dude was married? No word on who she is other than her name being Trina Younger. The woman above is who he showed up to the Notorious premiere with. Jamal allegedly slapped Trina in their East New York home during an early-morning argument because he came home late.

According to the police report, Trina dared her husband of seven months to hit her. Jamal says: “She wouldn’t stop pushing me, so I snuffed her.” Jamal faces the judge on January 29th. But get this–his mother in law–Trina’s mother–is saying this story sounds made up and Jamal is too good of a husband to hit Trina:

“I know he wouldn’t hit her,” says Roslyn Younger, the actor’s mother-in-law. “He’s not like that. Most definitely, they have a good relationship. That’s impossible. I think it’s made up. He’s a loving husband, and I never heard of anything like that before in my life.”

Yes indeed. Art imitating life?

Last year The Lime brought you the news that Alicia Keys was allegedly involved with Swizz Beatz who was in a relationship with singer Mashonda and father to their son Kasseem Dean Jr.

Of course, he denied those rumors. But Mashonda recently contradicted him in a recent interview with Angela Lee on her Lip Service show on Sirius' Shade 45 Station. When it came to the rumors of her finding credit card statements that matched dates and cities on an Alicia Keys' tour ( of which Swizz was a part), she says: "That's a true statement, but that wasn't the first,"

"It's not like I wake up, and I have to snoop," she said. "It's if you recognize -- and this is for anybody, a man, woman, whatever -- if you recognize a dramatic change, and you're asking 'What's the problem?' and you're not getting an answer, you're just gonna have to [find out for yourself]."

Despite all this she says that he is forgiven. The pair separated early last year.
