According Page six of the New York Post, Swizz Beatz owes the IRS:
Swizz Beatz has again been hit by the tax man. According to public records, the fiancé of Alicia Keys -- who's pregnant with Beatz's child -- was slapped with an IRS lien of $652,727 on June 3 for unpaid 2008 income tax. The music producer, real name Kasseem Dean, has had a string of liens filed against him and his former wife, Mashonda, in New York, Georgia and California. Their debts stand at about $2.2 million. A lawyer for Beatz said, "We have been discussing the issue with the government for years and are currently negotiating an amicable resolution of the dispute."
That probably was all tied up in the divorce dispute...I wonder what Mashonda has to pay????

Chris Brown breaks down during Michael Jackson tribute performance at 2010 BET Awards
Chris Brown please don't go on twitter and bitch about the hater's who are talking about your inability to perform the song 'Man In The Mirror" at the end of your tribute to Michael jackson at the BET Awards. There will always be haters....but guess what???? There are people like me, who see the genuine emotion that was overcoming him...He's been through so much-damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Knowing that he wanted to perform last year and wasn't allowed, I think for him it was a moment of redemption. Please enjoy the performance below.

Jamaica’s premier summer music event Reggae Sumfest, is again living up to its reputation of delivering only the finest acts, by bringing one of the music industry’s most celebrated pop stars, Usher, to this year’s 18th staging.
The International R&B star has been confirmed as a performer to take the stage at the show which runs in Catherine Hall, St. James between July 17 and 24.
Usher will join a cast of fellow performing giants such as Chris Brown, Beenie Man, Shaggy, Bounty Killer, Mavado, Tarrus Riley, Queen Ifrica, Jah Cure among others.
Though not his first local performance, Usher has been on a phenomenal streak in recent times, with memorable music and electrifying performances. His latest album Raymond V. Raymond which was released on March 30 this year, debuted at number 1 on the US Billboard 200 charts. His latest single OMG featuring Will.I.Am is also currently blazing the airwaves, clubs and parties across the world.
This is only his latest crown in a career decorated with accomplishments. Usher has won 5 Grammy awards, 8 Soul Train Awards, and 19 Billboard Music Awards.
He made his musical debut in 1994 with the single Think of You but it was not until 1997 that Usher gained popularity with the hit song My Way. Since then, he has turned into a virtual hit-maker.
In 2001 Usher released the album 8701, which went four times platinum riding on the success of hit singles such as U Remind Me and U Got It Bad. In 2004 Confessions sold over 10 million copies in the US. It was ranked as grossing the highest sales in the first week for an R&B artiste in history. Subsequently, the album sold 20 million copies worldwide and was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In 2008, his album Here I Stand sold over 5 million copies worldwide and was certified platinum.
In addition to Usher’s recording feats, he is also known for his talent on the stage, and on the screen. Usher appeared in the 1998 film The Faculty and a year later She’s All That. As a Humanitarian, Usher founded New Look, a non-profit organization that seeks to give young people a ‘new look’ on life through the use of education and real life experiences as the incentive.
With a string of accolades and awards, there is no doubt Usher will add considerable value to an army of stars now billed for the greatest summer Festival in Jamaica.

NEW YORK, United States — Christopher 'Dudus' Coke has pleaded not guilty to US charges he ran a massive drug ring from Kingston.
Coke entered the plea Friday in federal court in Manhattan today.
The 42-year-old alleged boss of the Shower Posse gang was sent to New York yesterday under tight security after waiving his right to an extradition hearing. His case had sparked street violence in Kingston that left more than 70 dead.
US prosecutors say Coke conspired to distribute cocaine and marijuana throughout the eastern United States for more than 15 years. They say drug dealers gave him 'tribute payments' in the form of electronics, clothing and firearms.
He faces a possible life term if convicted.

Business interests are expecting this year’s Reggae Sumfest to bring a significant jolt to the Montego Bay economy, which should also extend to the wider Jamaica. It is being seen as a welcome ease to the current economic crunch and a catapult for more growth.
Each year, the world- renowned Festival draws thousands of overseas visitors into the city and its environs, and with this influx, there comes a remarkable upswing in commerce and its related benefits. Visitors have been known to travel from as far as Australia to attend the Festival, spending on Jamaican products liberally as they seek to enjoy every aspect of the Jamaican brand. From as far back as 2003, it was predicted that significant foreign exchange would flow into the island during the time of the festival. This year’s Festival should bring substantial benefits to a wide variety of business interests primarily in the second city, but extending to other areas of the island.
“We expect Reggae Sumfest to be a major contributor to the economic landscape for this year,” states Johnny Gourzong, Executive Director of Summerfest Productions, producers of Reggae Sumfest. “This Festival causes people to not just spend on it, but to spend in preparation for it, and in several other endeavours related to it, and this year should be no different.”
This reality has been duly noted by the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce, which has over 200 members ranging from small family-run enterprises, to large scale businesses such as hotels and resorts. They all thrive from the boom in the various forms of trade which are direct spin-offs from the Festival, during a period that has traditionally been considered slow in that part of the island.
Data from the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce also indicate that villas, hotels, and guest houses become fully booked, restaurants, cook shops, and cafes get unprecedented patronage, clothing stores, beauty salons and countless other businesses get the spike in activity before, during, and even after the Festival. In addition, the benefits are not confined to the second city, but spread widely to the major towns across the island. The fashion industry is one example, as the clothing stores, the tailors, dressmakers and those that provide accessories get major orders to fill within the period.
With the line-up this year that includes American R&B star Chris Brown, international superstars Shaggy and Beenie Man, Jah Cure, Etana, Queen Ifrica and Mavado, the package again promises to be an excellent lineup, and the expected benefits to the country should follow.

Four-time calypso and 5-time road march winner Dennison “King Dice” Joseph promises a spectacular event for patrons attending the King Dice and Friends Father’s Day Concert on Saturday June 19th at Dominica’s Harlem Plaza.
According to MC and co-organizer, Val “Young Bull” Cuffy, this concert was organized especially with fathers in mind. “Mother’s Day gets a great deal of coverage and is such a big event in the annual calendar; we want to do the same for fathers. They deserve their roses too.” He added, “We have for them a strong lineup of popular local artists including headliner King Dice a favorite of many Dominicans."
King Dice will ring in Father’s Day with a variety of songs from his repertoire including moving social commentaries like “(Help) My Brothers’ For Me”, “Higher” as well as the Reggae lovers’ anthem “Chance”. Having not performed at Calypso Finals this year, King Dice believes that this show will be a treat for the fans. “I will deliver like I am at the finals, so they can expect props, extras, wardrobe changes, and stage effects.” Dice, who was approached by Cuffy with the idea for the show, also believes in the importance of recognizing and celebrating fatherhood. “I am a father too and it’s a great feeling to honor dads like this. I think it will be a great show full of love and positive energy.”
Preceding Dice on stage will be local Reggae artists Dr. Silk, Atunyah and Abessah. The nine performing calypsonians are: Sye, De Professor (Jr. Calypso Monarch 2009 & 2010), Soul Puss, Hunter (Former Calypso King), Tasha P, Yakima, Checker, Triumph and Prosper.

ABOUT KING DICE
A former Junior Calypso Monarch, Dennison “King Dice” Joseph is the youngest and only calypsonian to win four national crowns and five consecutive road march titles in Dominica calypso history. His first win was in 2004 with the songs “Peace Is My Business", dedicated to world leaders, and the second round crowd pleaser "Animal Farm," which compared politicians to various farm animals. In 2005 he captured the crown with his songs "Help My Brother For Me” and the political satire “Puppet Master." On February 25th 2006, King Dice made history by becoming the third but youngest calypsonian in 30 years to win 3 calypso crowns in 3 consecutive years, accomplishing what many veteran calypsonians have yet been able to do. "These Are The Days" and "I Eh Fraid Of Them" were the two songs he performed that night. Although Dice was definitely the crowd favorite on the night of February 17th 2007, where he performed "Lights" and "Follow Your Leader;" He placed 4th out of nine other calypsonians. Not breaking from the recipe that secured his prior wins, Dice with the help of songwriter Pat Aaron came back a year later to capture the crown with "Roll The Dice And See" and "On My Own." By then he had won the road march five times in a row with the songs "Tarzan"-2003, "Animal Farm-2004, "Puppet Master"-2005, "I Eh Fraid"-2006 and "Lights"-2007.
King Dice is presently contracted as the face of Heineken Beer in Dominica. He has received several awards for his accomplishments in the calypso arena including A Young Achievers Award in 2004 from the Commonwealth of Dominica Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs, Sports and Human Resource Development for his contribution to culture. In July 2006, he became a member of the Elite- Tri Peat Club. Along with the other two calypsonians who have won 3 consecutive crowns he received his blue 3 peat jacket from the University of the West Indies in Dominica and Pawol Inc. He also received in 2006 a Youth Ambassador Award from the National Youth Council of Dominica in recognition of his contribution to calypso art form and for his 3-peat achievement. King Dice has taken part in workshops and forums on the island, with several groups including the Optimist Club who's main focus is youth development. In 2006 he released his 13 track debut CD entitled A Little Higher, co produced by himself and his writer Pat Aaron, consisting of all his calypsos from as far back as 2003, the ever popular “Chance,” "Hold On To Cricket", a song for cricket fans all over the Caribbean, urging them to have faith in the west Indies cricket team, and a few other party tunes. His latest album is a compilation of his hits called
Currently on hiatus from formal calypso competition, Dice hopes to return to the big stage in 2011. In the meantime he performs for fans in Dominica and the world at stageshows, music festivals and other events.

BASSETERRE, St Kitts:- Sizzla Kalonji, one of the most prolific leaders of the conscious reggae dancehall movement, will be performing at this year’s St. Kitts Music Festival, which starts on Thursday 24th June to Saturday 26th June.
Born Miguel Collins, Sizzla has released more than 45 solo albums and more than 15 combination albums, crossing different genres of reggae music. He has recorded material that is concerned primarily with spirituality and social consciousness, through the exploration of common Rastafarian themes, such as “Babylon's corrupting influence,” the disenfranchisement of the youth, oppression of the “black ation” and Sizzla's abiding faith in Jah and resistance against perceived agents of oppression.
He owns the record company, Kalonji Records; which in a joint venture with Damon Dash Music Group and KochRecords, released the critically-acclaimed album, The Overstanding” in November 2006.
“There is very little doubt that Sizzla Kalonji is one of the most revered conscious reggae artistes,” said Faron Lawrence, chairman of the Executive Committee of the St. Kitts Music Festival. “That is why his inclusion in the 14th Annual St. Kitts Music Festival certainly was an easy decision to make, for we expect Sizzla to reinforce the fact that the St Kitts Music Festival is a spectacular musical show, which blends rich exciting music with exhilarating performances.”

He now resides in Harare, Zimbabwe after this year in May he was given a farm there, for his performance at Zimbabwe’s president Robert Mugabe's

Ziggy Marley is giving away his world cup commemorative single "Africa Land'
Five-time Grammy winning artist and reggae icon Ziggy Marley, motivated by the historic occurrence of the World Cup being played in Africa for the first time, took the opportunity to write his current single "Africa Land". The song is an anthem to unity, freedom and new beginnings; well known principles championed by the legendary Marley family. Africa Land falls on the heels of Marley's 2009 Grammy-winning Children's album, Family Time.
For this song, Marley recruited Grammy winning artists, brother Stephen Marley and African mega star Angelique Kidjo. Together they created a catchy, danceable song, which incorporates Dancehall Reggae, as well as African elements. Free Downloads will be available beginning June 7 at www.ziggymarley.com and www.tuffgongworldwide.com.
“The bible says ‘the first shall be last and the last shall be first.’ How fitting that South Africa – the last nation on the homeland to be free – is the launch pad for a global event that will showcase the rise of the African continent,” said Ziggy Marley. “Africa Land is the song which celebrates that dream becoming true.”
Marley plans to release "Africa Land" as an exclusive to African radio, to be followed worldwide as a free download shortly thereafter. Africa Land will be the first single from an upcoming collection of free singles entitled The Wild and Free Singles Marley is to release later this year.
Ziggy Marley's early immersion in music came at age ten when he sat in on recording sessions with his father. Then, as front man to Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers, Marley released eight best-selling albums, generating three Grammys, with such chart-topping hits as Tomorrow People and Tumbling Down. Marley's solo debut, Dragonfly, was released in 2003. His second solo release, Love Is My Religion, won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album to much critical acclaim in 2006. His third solo release, Family Time, scored him a Grammy in a new category: Best Musical Album For Children.

Shane Shillingford making Dominica proud!!!!! West Indies what took you guys so dyam long???
I don't know cricket. I probably say that every time I write a post about the sport. I do know that their is a bias against small island players in the sport. For years I have been hearing of how Shane Shillingford like other Dominicans before him, has been denied a spot on the West Indies Cricket Team. Well, he is finally there and guess what??? His first test match he is already making a name for himself and pulling up the team from their blistering, losing streak.

According to DigicelCricket.com
Debutant off spinner Shane Shillingford made the best of a rain curtailed and soggy first day of the First Digicel Test at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad. The tall Dominican enjoyed a fine start to his international career in grim conditions, as he extracted the two South African openers at a cost of five miserly runs from a six over spell.
The Proteas – the second highest ranking Test team in the world – closed the day in the uncomfortable position of 70 for 3, with veteran batting maestro Jacques Kallis on 6 and nightwatchman Paul Harris not yet off the mark.
Shillingford, delivering with a bounding run up and sprightly action, accounted for Alviro Petersen via the lbw route for 31 and Captain Graeme Smith was caught at first slip by his nemesis Dwayne Bravo for 23.
The day’s proceedings left the West Indies in the unfamiliar position of a slight ascendency on the opening day of a Test match against a top ranked side.
Yes, my boy. Do your thing. Make DA proud!!!!

Jamaican Dancehall artist Beenie Man was granted bail today after being charged with assault resulting in bodily harm, after allegedly assaulting fellow entertainer LA Lewis. Beenie Man along with selector Rolexx were charged and given bail set at $100,000.
The sad thing is this happened right after the funeral of Oneil Edwards on Saturday. Sources say Lewis was driving with his head out the vehicle window, and ran into Beenie's Audi Q7. Now anyone who knows of or has ever met L.A Lewis know he is full of chat, and that supposedly is what he did after hitting the car. Beenie got out of his vehicle and physically assaulted him...
Please people...no matter how irritating someone can get...don't assault them...especially public figures-let your people deal with his people.
Beenie left on a 22-city European Tour this week.

And on “Fireworks” there’s a verse about Rihanna, who asked him last year to write a song for her new album; the two soon began seeing each other regularly, though they never publicly confirmed their brief relationship.“I was a pawn,” Drake said. The song he wrote for her never got released. “You know what she was doing to me? She was doing exactly what I’ve done to so many women throughout my life, which is show them quality time, then disappear,” he said. “I was like, wow, this feels terrible.”
2nd Verse of "FireWorks"
I got this one girl, you know, in my life
so I say in this song, I say
I’m just such a gentleman
you should give it up for me
look at how I’m placing al my napkins and my cutlery
I can tell it wasn’t love I just thought you f-ck with me
who coulda predicted love could strike now you stuck with me
yeh, I kept my wits about me luckilly
what happened between us that night it always seems to trouble me
now all of a sudden these gossip brags wanna cover me
and you making it seem that it happened that way because of me
but I was curious and I’ll never forget it baby
what an experience
you coulda been the one but it wasnt that serious
their was smoke in the air before now its me cleaing it
that felt good, all and all I learned a lesson from it though
you never see it coming you just get to see it go
yeah I shoulda looked up in the sky at first
now I see it in her eyes

DOMINICAN HIP-HOPERA ARTIST MARIE-CLAIRE TO OPEN FOR FAITH EVANS IN ANTIGUA
Dominican-born, Bronx-reared, Hip-Hopera artist marie-claire is the only regional performer outside of Antigua to perform at the two-night Love Is All We Need concert at the Sugar Ridge Hotel which takes place June 19th and 20th. On the first night, dubbed “Queens of State,” she will join Antiguan singer Shermain Jeremy as the opening act for headliner Faith Evans, the Grammy-winning, RnB powerhouse from the US. marie-claire will also be present at several pre-concert press events, including a in-store reception at Colombian Emeralds.
According to Director of the US Tourism Team Derede Samuel-Whitlock, marie-claire brings something new and fresh to the mix. “Overall we want to create something entirely different from the existing festivals that currently exist throughout the Caribbean. In addition, the artists will become in involved in volunteerism, and do some charity work. I believe marie-claire has the right personality and image for the entire experience.”
The Father’s Day weekend event will coincide with the fourth annual Destination Wedding ceremony. New York couple, Doug Singer and Charmaine Bennett will wed in the Caribbean’s premier romance destination, during Antigua’s official month for romance. Upon arrival on Friday June 18th, they will select their rings at Colombian Emeralds accompanied by tourism officials, members of the media and performers including marie-claire. The lucky pair will wed the following day at 6 pm during a private ceremony at Sugar Ridge’s Carmichael’s Restaurant; after which there will be a Vegas-style procession to kick off the concert!
On June 20th, Father’s Day, renowned actor, and director Malik Yoba of Why Did I Get Married Too fame will host the “Men of Soul” concert featuring Ginuwine (another RnB great), and local artistes Kenne Blessing and the legendary King Short Shirt.
Both nights will feature several romance-themed activities including “a kissing booth, where couples will be photographed while kissing; cooking demonstrations with Malik Yoba making aphrodisiacs with a local chef; as well as cultural performances.” says Samuel-Whitlock.
Love Is All We Need replaces the Romantic Rhythms concert which pulled in up to ten thousand visitors in 2008. When asked about turnout at the 1300-capacity Sugar Ridge hotel Ms Samuel-Whitlock.states “Clearly, the theme of romance resonated with Romantic Rhythms and there is significant potential to build brand equity. We also know that bookings for the month of June are particularly strong, especially with honeymooners, so we will also appeal to the visitors who are already here. We also believe that marie-claire will help bring out the large Dominican following in Antigua and Barbuda as she did during her performance at Russell's earlier this year.”
Fans can look forward to several songs from her debut album the dreamland project which will feature operatic renditions of reggae standards as well as some original pieces.
Tickets for Love Is All You Need concert are US $50 per person for each night or US $80 for both nights. For ticketing and other information call Sugar Ridge Hotel on 562 7700 or Antigua’s Ministry of Tourism on 562 4756.
ABOUT MARIE-CLAIRE
marie-claire is an Italian-trained opera singer who has performed at Carnegie Hall and who’s songs have been featured in feature films such as Lovin Jezebel and The Roommate. She spent time in front of the camera as a cast member on the second season of Chapelle’s Show on Comedy Central. Since marie-claire’s return to her homeland Dominica, she has through her girlfullofgold productions ltd, produced and hosted local music programmes, while still making time to perform at events such as LIME Creole in the Park and various private functions. marie-claire has performed at several regional events including Ocho Rios Jazz Festival, Jamaica Jazz and Blues and Love Fest in St. Lucia. Venues such as Russell’s in Antigua and Weekenz, Christopher’s Jazz Café and Red Bones Blues Café, in Jamaica are almost second homes, for the celebrated singer.
marie-claire’s passion is to seamlessly blend opera and hip-hop, as she finds the two genres covering the same themes with their highly dramatic lyrics, just listen to her amazing voice on DJ Logic’s The Anomaly, or her songs “Red” and “Desperation.” Now it is time to condense this blend of Opera, Hip-Hop and Reggae into a mature, sexy, and delightful album- a fitting description of marie-claire herself. Look out for the dreamland project which will feature marie-claire singing celebrated reggae songs (like Bunny Wailer’s “Dreamland”) in Opera, and will include some original reggae selections such as “Care For You” a sweet and timeless lover’s rock with and old soul. This girl full of gold is a treasure you don’t want to miss!

Lil Kim needs to stop being so insecure.
